Candidate will be appointed according to MSP career guide from Artisan Fitter Gr 2 up to Snr Artisan depending on qualifications and experience

 

ABOUT THE ROLE / PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To support production by providing effective equipment maintenance and reliability while adhering

to procedures/codes, and utilising all available support resources to increase stability and maintain

sustainability of the plant and/or equipment.

 

FUNCTIONAL OUTPUTS

• Do daily plant preventative inspection
• Planning own tasks
• Do preventative and repairs on plant equipment according to safety regulations, instruction and quality procedures.
• Conduct fault finding on mechanical equipment
• Initiate pro-actives in maintenance
• Must be able to do standby
• Willing to work overtime

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

 

• Be able to work at heights, dirty and noisy areas
• Actively participate in discussions that improve maintenance, quality and safety
• Must be physically fit
• Knowledge of emergency procedures
• Must be in possession of a valid drivers license
  

Qualifications:

• Grade 12/ N3 Mechanical
• NQF level 4 Mechanical Fitter or equivalent qualification ex QCTO certificate
• Trade Certificate will be an advantage

 

 Experience:

 

• At least 2 year’s maintenance mechanical experience 
• Reading and understanding work management process
• Experience in variety of mechanical equipment, pumps, compressors, drives, mechanical seals, gearboxes, heat exchangers, cooling towers, vessels and piping

• Computer literate
• Conduct fault finding
• Identify trends and initiate solutions for specific equipment failures
• Be able to do preventative repairs on plant equipment

• Team player:- able to function in a large group of artisans, or a diverse group of disciplines
• Be able to work under pressure
